The feeling of tension and stiffness in muscles after a long period of sitting immobile at a desk or after exercise is familiar to most of us, as is the relief that comes from rubbing the affected area.   Massage therapy helps to soothe tight muscles, increase mobility and flexibility and reduce muscle pain. It stimulates blood circulation in the affected area bringing oxygen and nutrients to the muscle tissue. In addition, massage works on the nervous system. Soothing, gentle massage strokes promote mental relaxation and the release of endorphins - the body's natural feel-good hormones. Regular massage therapy can help to prevent physical imbalances and promote an overall feeling of wellbeing.

Massage is generally safe and suitable for everyone. However, there are some contraindications that can restrict or even prevent treatment. If you are seeking treatment for a particular ailment or injury please contact me to discuss how I can best help you.    I will ask you to fill in a consultation form at the beginning of the session, so I can get a better understanding of what you would like to get out of the massage treatment and also to see if there are any medical conditions that I need to be aware of. In addition, we will have a brief discussion at the beginning of the appointment to ensure the massage is best tailored to your needs and expectations.

Please allow about 2x2m of floorspace to set up the massage table. To check you can roll out a yoga mat – you should be able to walk around it easily. I provide all necessary equipment including linen. Please wear something comfortable that is easy to undress/dress from. Candles and spa music optional The beauty of an at-home massage is that you can set the scene. Whilst I provide classic spa vibe music, you are free to play your own preferred music and enjoy creating your home spa by lighting candles. Although I fully understand that it is not always possible, I suggest that you try to keep distractions to a minimum during the treatment, so you can fully benefit from the massage.

Your therapist will leave the room while you get comfortable on the table. You must wear underwear on your lower half at all times. If you wear a bra, it’s up to you whether you keep it on. The therapist might open it to work on your back - your chest will always be covered. Once you’re ready, lie face-down on the massage table with a towel covering you. At the end of the treatment your therapist will give you privacy to get dressed before packing down. They’ll recommend aftercare advice, but you can also contact them with any questions after your treatment. A note about safety: All treatments are strictly non-sexual and Restore with Christina have a zero tolerance approach to sexual harassment. That includes (but isn’t limited to) not wearing underwear or exposing yourself. We don’t hesitate to take action against offenders, including involving the police.
